Ascenty announces three new data centers in Latin America

Company expands its network from 18 to 21 facilities and strengthens its leadership in the region

Ascenty, the leading data center company in the Latin American market, started 2020 by announcing the construction of a new data center in Chile and two other projects in Mexico. With the investments, the company now has 21 data centers in total, and expands its network to meet the demands of customers in Latin American countries.

The second data center in Chile is being built on the company’s campus in Santiago and will be launched by the second half of 2021. With approximately 24,000 sqm in floor space, the Chile 2 data center will bring power capacity in the campus up to 30 MVA.

“Latin America is a promising growth region for Ascenty. Over the past few years, we have received investments from Digital Realty and Brookfield, and have studied the market to grow our operations in countries other than Brazil. Now, we have solidified this leadership strategy with the announcement of three new facilities in the region, which will boost business opportunities and expand our scope,” said Chris Torto, CEO of Ascenty.

Besides its 21 data centers, Ascenty has an interconnection ecosystem that features 4,500 kilometers of dedicated fiber-optic network, connecting all of the data centers in operation with the world’s leading cloud providers and cable landing stations in Brazil. The company’s facilities are carrier neutral, which allows its customers to connect through any carrier or through its own dedicated network.

Roberto Rio Branco, VP of Marketing and Institutional Relations at Ascenty, notes that “in addition to investing in quality infrastructure, Ascenty’s differential is our dedication to customer service, providing flexibility and agility to solve any business challenge, and ensuring the best service in the shortest time. The management focus on exclusive and consultative customer service is one of the factors that has guided our growth on a successful journey.”
